The Carolina Hurricanes (4-3) are coming home on the heels of a 4-3 overtime victory over the Phoenix Coyotes (2-2-2) at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Arizona on Saturday night. Defenseman Anton Babchuk made a break into the low slot and was rewarded with a pass from Joni Pitkanen that he redirected into the net to help the Hurricanes escape with the win at 2:52 in overtime after giving up a 3-0 lead in the third period. Once again, goaltender Cam Ward had to be sharp down the stretch as his 36 saves held the Coyotes at bay long enough for the Canes to score the winner and prepare to return home after a season-opening seven-game road trip that has included travel to Russia, Finland, and across North America.
