We reported yesterday that the Rangers had acquired Swedish defensive prospect Tim Erixon from the Calgary Flames in exchange for two second-round draft picks and forward Roman Horak. Afterwards, Rangers GM Glen Sather, Flames GM Jay Feaster, and Erixon himself spoke about the deal.
Sather:
“Tim is an outstanding young defenseman with good size and mobility,” stated Sather. “He plays a complete, all-around game, and we feel he is an excellent addition to our developing, young defense corps.”
Feaster:
“Once we realized we were not going to be able to come to terms…we wanted to make sure we turned that pick into an asset”
Erixon:
“It is obviously very large and very unexpected. But it’s a dream come true. This is one of the greatest days of my life, ” says Tim.
