Birmingham took control early and made the most of a carry-over power play when Jim O’Brien broke in down the right side and flipped a shot that got past the glove of Levasseur to give the Senators a 2-1 lead.
Kaspars Daugavins put Binghamton up 3-1 about four and a half minutes later when he corralled a feed from Corey Locke in the slot and whipped a wrister past Levasseur to send the Crunch down by two goals. That marker chased Levasseur in favor of Timo Pielmeier.
