Raymond added an insurance goal at 1:03 of the third that gave the Canucks a 4-2 lead. It came while Vancouver was short-handed. Manny Malhotra poked the puck off the stick of Calgary defenceman Jay Bouwmeester and Raymond had a breakaway from his own blue-line. He beat Calgary goalie Miikka Kiprusoff with a nifty deke to his backhand.
Alex Burrows made it 5-2 at 6:16 of the third when he beat Kiprusoff high to the short side from the left circle. Raymond completed his hat trick on a Vancouver power play late in the third when he took a pass from Mikael Samuelsson and beat Kiprusoff from the right circle. Dan Hamhuis completed the third period onslaught with another power-play goal at 17:56.
