Nikolai Khabibulin kicked aside 30 of 32 shots in the Oilers 3-2 shootout loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night.
In addition, Khabibulin stopped seven of nine shots in the shootout, but was beaten by 18-year old Cam Fowler who notched the winner. If the Oilers have one Christmas wish, it should be for Khabibulin to stay healthy for the rest of the year, because as he’s shown in the last week, he can be very steady when afforded consistent playing time. In three games this week, the Bulin Wall is 2-0-1, and has not allowed more than two goals in regulation and overtime.
