Bobkov Named Second Straight Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month

Igor Bobkov of the Utah Grizzlies is the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for March. It is the second consecutive month that Bobkov has won the award and the third straight month that a Utah goaltender has received the honor.

Bobkov went 6-2-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .950 in eight appearances during the month.

The 23-year-old made at least 22 saves in four of his eight appearances in March and allowed two goals or less in seven of eight games. Bobkov allowed just one goal five times.

A third-round selection (76th overall) by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Bobkov is 17-7-4 in 28 appearances with the Grizzlies with two shutouts. He leads the ECHL with a 2.00 goals-against average and is tied for third with a .923 save percentage. Bobkov is 16-3-2 in his last 21 decisions and he has allowed two goals or less in 18 of his 28 appearances. He has also seen action in eight games with Norfolk of the American Hockey League going 5-2-1 with a 2.45 goals-against average and a save percentage of .919.

A native of Surgut, Russia, Bobkov spent all of last season with Norfolk where he appeared in 28 games with a record of 11-17-0, a 3.13 goals-against average and a save percentage of .903.
