After spending most of the first month of the season losing players to injury, the Devils finally get one back tonight when they face the Rangers at Prudential Center.
Defenseman Anton Volchenkov is expected to play after missing the last 12 games with a stiff neck and a broken nose, which were the result of being struck in the face with a Nicklas Backstrom shot Oct. 9 in Washington.
“He’ll be in the morning skate [today] and we anticipate him being able to play,” Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello said Thursday.
