Hedberg remains steady, wins 6th consecutive start

Goaltender Johan Hedberg made and won his sixth consecutive start, making 24 saves. Over the six consecutive wins, Hedberg has allowed only seven total goals.

“I thought he was steady,” Devils coach Jacques Lemaire said “Every game he’s been in, he’s been good. That’s why we keep going with him.”

Hedberg said he wasn’t surprised that Lemaire stuck with him in net, though Martin Brodeur (sprained MCL in right knee) was healthy enough to back up again.

“I overheard Marty saying that he thought he needed maybe some more time, so I wasn’t shocked,” Hedberg said.
