Kaspars Daugavins and B-Sens Buckle Down For Playoff Drive

The Binghamton Senators returned from the American Hockey League All-Star break with a three-point weekend in Norfolk, Va., keeping the Eastern Conference crossover playoff spot in their grasp and adding to their confidence as they head into the final stretch.

With 29 games left, the B-Sens are 25-20-3-3 (56 points) and tied with the 24-18-2-6 Worcester Sharks for seventh place in the conference despite being stuck in fifth place in the East Division.

“I think we’re playing great,” forward Kaspars Daugavins said. “The team knows what’s on the line here. We’re one point in a playoff spot right now, but it’s big to take every point we can. It’s February, and there are two months left until the regular season is done; we need to win a lot of games to make sure we’re in the playoffs.”

Daugavins tied Friday’s game with a late goal to earn the B-Sens a point despite an eventual loss in overtime, and Roman Wick scored with 12.5 seconds left in regulation Saturday to give them their first win against the Admirals this season.
