Former Hawk Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 26 shots, including back-to-back saves on point-blank opportunities for Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane late in the third.
“I thought that was lucky,” Khabibulan said. “Usually, most of the time, they score that goal.”
Hossa, Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith were all on the ice for both goals against and each finished the night with a minus-1 rating.
“We’re not looking for blame here, we’re looking for solutions. No matter who’s on the ice we have to be better in those situations,” coach Joel Quenneville said. “We shouldn’t be happy where we’re at.”
