Pekka Rinne helps Predators stay hot, stop Sharks


Pekka Rinne put quite a capper on the Nashville Predators’ three-game sweep through California in four days.

Rinne made 42 saves, and Sergei Kostitsyn scored a tiebreaking goal early in the third period to lead the Predators to their fifth straight win, 2-1 over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.

“Our goaltender stole this one for us,” Predators coach Barry Trotz said. “We battled pretty hard but we looked like a tired hockey team.”
