Manitoba snuck onto the board first with an even-strength Sergei Shirokov goal just 2:11 into the game. It took a few seconds before everyone on the ice realized the puck was even in the net; it was a quiet goal to say the least.
Milwaukee’s Grant Lewis tied things up with a slap shot goal at the 9:47 mark of the opening period. Chris Mueller and Andreas Thuresson each earned an assist on the goal after Lewis beat Manitoba goaltender Tyler Weiman with a slap shot from the near dot. Lewis has been on a hot streak since February, tallying nine points in nine games so far.
