In my opinion there may not be a defenseman whose stock is rising any faster than Anton Volchenkov‘s. If the new NHL is about shot blocking, than the new NHL is about Anton. He is the best in the NHL. Maybe one of the best to ever play the game. He doesn’t only block shots, he saves goals. Two in just the last two games. Volchenkov will be very, very sought after this summer if Ottawa doesn’t re-sign him.
